Fix N Stitch can repair most anything! Leather repair is our forte. However, there are some limitations to what we can repair, and what is reasoned to be on the far side of repair. Our sought after destination is to make you happy with your repair, and if we can not make it look immaculate because the damage is as large as the item requiring repair we want you to interpret why. Or if it is just something you want to make look improved, maybe to forbid molding of foam inside of a seat. We can assist with that as well.
FOUNDATION
Underneath every good repair is a solid foundation. What we like to call, ” The Foundation Repair”. So if your portion of leather is completely destroyed and there is nothing left of the leather for us to build our repair on, it is not going to be a strong repair.
EXAMPLE
Lets take bonded leather for an illustration of what we are talking about. If you notice in the photo there is a bonded leather material that is attached to an underlying fabric.
In this case, we can repair it but the chances of it lasting are slim. The reason is because, the material which we are attaching our repair to is going to continue to try and peel up. Making our foundation weak. All of the material on this chair is trying to come off. If I grab onto something that is descending, I am still going to tumble.
Now if the material on this chair was not peeling away from the underlying fabric here, and there was just some discoloration or a tear through the material. We could do a leather sofa repair.
Also if this was a petite area just beginning we could also repair, however we could not guarantee that the bonded leather chair will not start this issue in other points.
